Fertilizing orchids outside

Just had this thought.


Now that everything is outside would it be better to fertilize everything eveytime I water but at a very, very, very diluted rate? Everything will only get rain water for the summer. I collect and store it.


Forgot to ask

If yes, what would a good, safe strength be?

I fed every time i watered when my plants where outside last year.I let the rain leach the pots.As most of mine where in s/h i used about a 1/5th reccomended by the fert manufacturer.

Maybe this could be for the math people out here.

I keep a gallon jug of solution mixed at 1/4 strength.
I use a 1 gallon watering can to water the plants.
How much of the premixed solution should I put in the watering can for every watering? I would then fill with the rain water.

For your purposes just put a little more than three quarts of the pre-mix in the can and top off with a little less than a quart.
