Everyone loves a Wedding Feast

C. Hawaian Wedding feast 'Virgin' HCC/AOS. Well known, well-loved - what's not to love ? ( unless you are Chinese, when , so I am led to believe, this is the colour for mourning - which is the reason why we don't often get white phallies on offer from Taiwan).

I have a few of these, all in flower or coming into flower now - it's a plant I have difficulty in resisting.

Pristine ! I love it. I got a small one this year, hopefully it will flower in a year or two. I don't know if you have noticed but there seem to be a lot of either scale or mealy bugs on the underside of the leaves.

Beautiful whites, Geoff. I have a few divisions of C Hawaiian Wedding Song that looks almost similar to yours and incidentally, one of the smaller divisions is coming into bloom with two buds. The bigger divisions sometimes put out 3 blooms.

You are quite right about white blooms and Chinese beliefs. The Chinese prefer white phals with red lips to the all white varieties. White dendrobiums and even chrysanthemums are usually dyed by the florists for the cut flower market.
