Oncidium sphacelatum

First bloom for me on this guy. The blooming spike started in mid-December, but only began to open a week ago. Needless to say, this was frustrating.

It's in a 14" pot, give or take a couple inches. I didn't measure. Needs to be repotted. Maybe next year I'll get several spikes! Then we'd get a real show out of the thing.

I have 2 of these & i,m hoping to see some spikes but maybe they,re still a little small(compared to yours they are).

Hey Sue,

I have one of these and everyone keeps telling me to put it out in full sun.. as in morning, lunch, afternoon sun.. yes all day... is that crazy talk or will that get them blooming?

This one has been in full sun 3/4 of the day. Just ease it in to full sun, and it should be fine.

Meanwhile, I said I'd get a picture with a better sense of size. As you can see here, the spike is taller than my SO (other figures not guaranteed to scale).
