Egads they're tiny! Droseras
Life would be simpler if I was only addicted to orchids. But no, I find all sorts of plants fascinating and desirable. This is highly unfortunate since apt dwelling does not make for having space as plentiful as if I had a house or lived in a condo. Among my plant proclivities is a fascination with carnivorous plants. As a result I obtained a few packets of seeds for various droseras (aka 'sundews'). The seeds were like dustspecks. They have been slow to sprout and grow which I was prepared for. And I knew they would be small when they started out. However, I still was taken by surprise by the fact they are THIS small:

To help put things in better perspective for you, gentle readers, the white grains are coarse beach sand. Each granule is about 1mm-2mm on average. Oh, and in case anyone is interested, these sprouts are Drosera capensis. A dros that usually gets to be about 5-8cm tall (about 2-3 inches). If all these little buggers survive (and what is pictured above is only one cell of an egg carton) and if the other species finally germinate ...........................that's a lot of plants
