I have a Paph in bud on a 8" stem which has stopped developing about 2 weeks ago and I m afraid it may eventually lose the bud. Any suggestion as to what I may do to have it resume growng?

Oftentimes, paphs have their buds tantalizingly sitting there, not opening for weeks at a time. Have patience! Unless you notice it shriveling up, turning brown, etc... chances are it's just getting ready to open. Mine was in bud, and sat there for about three weeks, before finally opening! Paphs are just one orchid that really likes to tantalize us orchid growers. :-) Just have patience, and I'm sure it'll open.
This is definetly one for Maura but yes they are just maturing, preparing for the mass of energy it will utilize for the big bloom. The final touches. As long as it is in a stable temp and no threat of cold shock it wont blast/drop.
Dont worry about it, its normal, they can make you wait a while before they finally start opening.
Yep...they take a while...a watched pot never boils...then the minute you turn your back there it is....enjoy!
