Solid fertilizer

My granular fertilizers always seem to absorb moisture and turn to concrete. I keep the caps on (they are in plastic screw top containers). Nevertheless, they turn solid. I sometimes have to actually use an electric drill to break them up. Any solution to turn them to powder again, short of blasting??????

Oh my...an electric drill? I don't really have any ideas for correcting the problem, but prevention should be easy. Try storing them in your freezer-a super low humidity environment. Or maybe a Tupperware box with silica gel packets?

This is very interesting. My granular ferts. turn to liquid Mush very quickly. I am storing mine exactly as you have. My solution is I do not buy large quantities anymore. LOL.

I read this post and thought about something I have that might help. I found these little things to put in your spice jars to help keep them dry and thought why not for a fertilizer jar? It says you can use them for your medications and vitamins as well as spices. If you want the link to the item send me a msg and I'll share it with you.

...or move to Yuma, AZ, where we don't exactly have problems with too much moisture.
