Spring Flower Thread 2011 Southern Hemisphere

I thought it would be cool, seeing as there are a few of us from the Southern Hemsiphere, who are enjoying spring right now You northerners get your own threads from spring, summer, autumn and winter, so i thought "hey, why not?"

I'll start

Feel free to add on as you feel!

I have some very nice Geums enjoying the warmer weather, including this interesting fellow:


And my Bacopa 'Twinkle' is enjoying the warming soil too! And will soon be enjoying total garden domination if i dont pull out the rooted stems!




Then there is Ruby! My cat hehe, she is LOVING the increased hours of sun that DST brings....

A very 'Pretty in Blue' Felicia Daisy




And some nice corn-lily (Ixia) related bulbous plant at my grans-very nice as cut flowers on the table!

Now here is my Clivia miniata, and some very nice Borage officianalis. This stuff is great, brings the bees in, and the flowers fresh from the plant taste like cucumber! You can even infuse them in wine like the Saxons did for Courage, or just lie on the grass nibbling them lol! Plus, its good for big gaps, it naturalises REALLY well....

Hey bruce, its the Borage officianlis, should be readily available in the states i would imagine. Also called Bee Borage.

I didn't know you could eat clivia flowers...i'll have to try mine when they bloom again. It will take awhile as I transplanted the entire bucket into the yard this year. I love the corn lily and seathrift...i'd have the corn lily everywhere! Thanks for sharing...I love seeing the spring blooms from all over.

NOOOO!!!! DONT EAT THEM!!!! lol, its the BORAGE you can eat! I thought it was clear, but on second reading, i need to edit it....
So the Clivia is the first two, and the Borage is the second two
