    Default Lady Luck ( Winston Churchill 'Indomitable' FCC x ''Skip Bartlett 'White Pepper' HCC)

    This is the first bulldog Paph I bought and I have waited two years for it to bloom. I am one of the minority that love the bulldog varieties. I finally learned last spring that these need a cool period like phals do in order to set bud. I set it outside with my phals earlier this autumn and it paid off. Now i want MORE!

    Good thing these don't do well under my care...there isn't a cool area in the greenhouse. lol I'd have to build a "cool wing"...and right now the warm house is keeping me hopping!! These are just too cool...i'd have dozens!

    Personally i loath these bulldogs, but this isnt too bad-my allegiances are turning lol!

    ps/i love that dragonfly on the stem! i need some nice clips like that....

    Fortunately for me I have never seen a flower I didn't love--now with people that is a different story-- but even with them-- loathe is not part of my vocabulary. LOL
    You can find all sorts of different clips at any store that sells hair products. They usually have a wide selection on novlety clips for childrens hair. Personally i don't care for them but they are usually the only ones that I can find that are large enough for bigger spikes or in the case of paphs to give me the support needed to keep the bloom up and facing the viewer.

    LOL. I'm in the minority -- not a big fan of paphs or phrags at all, though I occasionally see one that I think is nice. Then to throw myself into an even smaller minority, I prefer the bulldog paphs to the "normal". Well done, Bill!

    I knew these needed cooler temps, but didn't realize it was for spike initiation. Learned something new today!

    Well then count me a minority because I love me some bulldogs. I love the complex Paphs. They have substance, the flowers are big - just neat plants.
