Advice needed/insecticide?

My partner's mother lives with us and she does many things without thinking- it is part of why she is living with us. Anyway David caught her today spraying all around the orchids with raid bug spray because she said she saw a bug of some sort flying around He immediately stopped her and he isn't sure of the spray got on the orchids or not. He was very upset. I don't know if there is anything that I should do to try to protect them short of rinsing them all off in the sink. The can says nothing about plants. Anyone have any ideas? They are phals and two are in bloom.

Rinsing is about all you can do. Likely it won't kill the orchids but you could lose flowers if they were sprayed directly.

Some use the shower for such needs.

Mild soap and water. Dunk, then rinse.

Sorry to hear that. concur with suggestions provided by Ray and Harvey. ensure that water used for rinsing does not collect in crown or in the media for long and allow it to drain

Although, I have heard that if left on the orchids, bug sprays can kill or cause tissue problems so as soon as you can get it off the plants the better.
