This is my Lc Mini Purple Tamami X Cattleya percivaliana Mendenhall Summit - first bloom on a small plant. No fragrance.
Such a large bloom for a small plant - very nice. Good growing - the crystalline texture in the petals is particularly pretty.
So sweet pink-purple color, love it!!
Thats very pretty. Are Cattleyas getting popular and easy to get in the South?
Very beautiful good growing.
Thanks Maura, Lynn, Gurjeet and Zain for the kind words!
Gurjeet, we have nurseries that import and sell hardened orchid plants including cattleyas in big cities like Bangalore . Bangalore has cool climate throughout the year - no extreme heat or cold - and is suitable for growing all kinds of plants including orchids. Kerala also has many nurseries that sell orchids.
Gorgeous !! It has the best from both the parents I would say !
Beautiful bloom, definetly! especially for its first show. Quite nostalgic to see in some catts, the traditional use of a corsage orchid. very cheerful and in great shape!
Congrats on the bloom, Nan! Nice form on this one. I would consider it a good thing that it didn't inherit fragrance from Mini Purple -- that one stinks.
Beautiful! Congrats on your first catt bloom...I am sure you'll have many more!
