Pot. Hoku Gem 'Freckles'

This little plant has the prettiest and longest lasting flowers...and they change to yellow before they are done. I also added my tiny Christensonia vietnamica plant. It has bloomed and to my suprise, the tiny plants' flowers aren't much smaller than the larger plants. Meanwhile plant #1 has thrown out another 3 spikes that are developing quickly. I am thinking both of these plants are going to be very popular.

Very pretty! I think you're wise to have Hoku Gem in a basket. I have mine in a clay pot and I lost several new growths to fungus.

The first two times it bloomed I blasted buds. And for some reason, the one's I refer to as "Bepi's", even though some technically shouldn't be called that; seem to have a problem with rot. This one was given to me by Rich, and he was a pro at putting catt's in baskets. Every plant he has given me in a basket is thriving like crazy. But I have to really keep hitting them with the anti-fungal stuff like Physan. Especially since our heat index goes over a 100 every day right now. Also;I have to be very careful when I water. If I have buds soaked with water, I shake them so the water drops don't sit on them and rot them in the heat. That and bugs will kill new buds every time.
