Post New addition to the family! Beallara Tahoma Glacier 'Sugar Sweet'

I stopped by the local greenhouse last night hoping they had gotten some new and exciting orchids in. Lo and behold, they did! It was a tough choice, but when I realized how many spikes this one had, I had to have it. I can't wait for it to flower!! According to the Google gods, it should look something like this:

    Name: bllra-tahoma-glacier-sugar-sweet1.jpg
Views: 2377
Size: 171.9 KB

Here's what my baby looks like today (hard to get a good photo without tons of stuff in the background):

From the brief research I did last night, it sounds like these like fairly high temps during the day, with 20° drops at night as well as fairly high humidity. Any other info/advice people want to share, please feel free! This is my second onc/intergenic and the first one seems to be doing quite well since I purchased it last summer (crossing my fingers for spikes soonish).

Just a question - this looks like my Beallara (Actually, it's Aliceara now, I believe, with the new oncid. recategorizations) Tahoma Glacier "Sugar Sweet" - is yours a new type?

The tag said bllra, but if it's been recategorized then I guess they hadn't heard the news (neither had I till now, thanks!). And I probably just can't read....you're right, it's Tahoma, not Thomas lol

Can a mod change the title for me to read correctly? Thanks!

Bruce or Louis should be able to fix it. BTW, Tahoma Glacier is a striking orchid - nice going!

Our Beallara Tahoma Glacier is blooming now. Love the sparkles on the white blooms. You will enjoy this orchid when those spikes pour out their flowers.

    cheers,

    Thanks!
I've never had one of these; should I expect multiple flowers on each spike, or one huge one per spike? It was difficult to tell from the photos I could find online.

Ali - you'll love these with their multiple flowers on each spike. Good choice!

Hooray! This may be the most flowers I've gotten on a single plant since I started with orchids. It's got 6 spikes! I just hope I keep it happy enough to give me abundant blooms
