The plant has about 8 spikes - although only three are out so far ; I have added some white arrows to one of the pics to point out another 3, and two more are behind the flowers on the other side. But all too crammed together to be seen properly - makes a bit of a splodgy mess in my opinion. But what's to be done ? Thin them with the sort of pointed scissors which I am told were invented for thinning grapes ? Just give up and hope for fewer next year ?
An unusual dilemma !
