Too many flowers ? Saccolabium acutifolium

The plant has about 8 spikes - although only three are out so far ; I have added some white arrows to one of the pics to point out another 3, and two more are behind the flowers on the other side. But all too crammed together to be seen properly - makes a bit of a splodgy mess in my opinion. But what's to be done ? Thin them with the sort of pointed scissors which I am told were invented for thinning grapes ? Just give up and hope for fewer next year ?

Lovely! I would just use styrofoam to space them out better, if that's what you're going for. It may be too late for the ones already open, maybe not, but you can always try it on the emerging buds.

Very pretty blooms. They seem to be competeing for space among themselves. really beautiful flowers nontheless.
The last photo of the individual bloom brought to mind "Tony the Tiger" LOLLLLLLLLLllllllllllll

Be careful what you wish for, Geoff. It might go the other way.

That is a normal flower presentation for this species and few other species from the genus. Always crowded and hiding under the leaves..

No such thing as too many flowers! Those are some neat looking blooms too Best of luck trying to get them to "show off" better
