hermaphrodite catasetum flower

hi,

never thought the effect of lighting would be that powerful on buds that are already formed. this ctsm giving out two female buds (can tell by their initial appearance) but i notices a second spike is emerging. so i transfer them to the "shade house" of mine hoping that the second spike would be male flower. when i was doing this the female bud is clearly evident but i had no idea that the lighting intensity had such a dramatic effect on a formed female bud.
in the pic not only the coloration of the female is strongly enhance but also there is a formation of a unilateral trigger pollina. i included a second replica image to point out the trigger pollina to facilitate viewing.
however i did try to catapult the trigger pollina, it did shoot something out but there is no pollen mass. a hermaphrodite but an incomplete one.
