Paravandrum Joanne Lalli in bloom

Today I have quite a rarity to show here. I have quite excited about this one. Paravandrum Joanne Lalli is a hybrid between Paraphalaenopsis laycockii and Ascocenda Aroonsri Beauty. It has taken the best from its parents. I have two plants growing in a typical Thai plastic Vanda basket. I have potted it up loosely using LECA pellets. And it has been staying on a western window with no direct light (around 1000 - 1500 FC) and it is thriving. It has three more spikes/roots developing, will know soon enough.

Great shots Amey! This is an exceptional Paraphalaenopsis hybrid, by which I mean the bright vibrant colour. The majority of Para hybrids lack this desirable quality - they may be dark coloured but mostly lack the vibrancy of colour seen in yours. A winner. I'll be looking for one .

Thanks Yew, Al and Stateless. With better culture in warmer and brighter greenhouse in Pune, India I hope to see longer inflorescence with much more vibrant colors. But there is nothing to complain about this plant. I would recommend it to everyone loving odd vandaeceous crosses.

Amey, certainly an odd cross which has made for an excellent plant. I love it. I too will be on the look out for this one or similiar.
