This is Paph. Avalon Pearl, a cross of delenatii and Avalon Mist (primulinum x Pinnochio [glaucophyllum x primulinum]). The hybridizers intended to improve Paph. DePerle (primulinum x delenatii), presumably by adding glaucophyllum for a little pink, and perhaps more blooms per inflorescence.
Hard to improve the best cultivars of DePerle, and this grex hasn't been awarded - but then, it was only registered in 2009.
My plant is young (this is the third inflorescence of this "season") but has a good-size stem of about 19 cm and is about 10 cm across. I am growing it in S/H, in medium light among my other parvisepalum hybrids - keep damp but not wet, and high humidity (70%) all day, a bit lower at night. I wish I could put it out on the deck, so that it could get the near 100% humidity we have here overnight, but I would need to rig up a shade cloth of some sort and I'm stymied about that.
It has a luminosity that these photos don't do justice to, but here it is anyway. I rather like it.
