    Default Catasetum pileatum 'Icy Green'

    Last month my Catasetum pileatum bloomed for the first time.This week the second spike from the same pseudobulb is blooming.

    Pic #1 - Ctm pileatum - first blooms

    Pic #3 - Ctm pileatum ' Icy Green' winning 'Best Plant in Show' at a local Orchid Show.
    Pic #4 - My Catasetum fimbriatum x tenebrosum - don't know the registered name.


    The Ctm pilatum ' Ivy Green' belongs to a friend of mine it is truly a magnificent specimen - not only for the exceptional flower qualities but for its floriferousness - 30 or more flowers per flowering! I've been lusting after this clone for a long time and still trying.

    Wow! These are really nice. I just got a Catasetum pileatum "red pena" which I hope will bloom next year. Excellent job.

    I like the last one too, but the flowers are rather small 4cm/1 3/4" compared to the pileatum 7cm/2 3/4". Nonetheless, very pretty having the inherited fimbriated lip of the fimbriatum parent and the chocolate colour of the tenebrosum parent.
