Brassia Question

Hi everyone... I have a rather nice brassia 'eternal wind summer dream' that I read flowers in the fall. Well, we're coming up on fall now, and instead of growing flower spikes, it's just growing new leaves. Does this mean it won't flower at all? Should it even be growing new leaves and bulbs at this time of the year? Any input would be helpful. (I don't know how much climate comes into play here, but I live in CT USA).

Quinmutt, the ones we have here don't follow the "early fall" blooming schedule at all. We've got a few that look like they're going to bloom in early winter, and several that are just finishing blooming now. I don't know what it is with these guys, but they're strange!

If new growth / leaves are still developing on yours, don't expect flowers for another few months yet.

We all have to endure waiting sometimes...I had an onc that made a new bulb but that didn't bloom. Then that bulb made a new growth was was killed off by a rot. Then it had to start over with another new growth which is still quite small right now, and to make everything worse, the onc has to be a slowpoke at growing ...well, perhaps your brassia will surprise you with something soon
