I have a Den. White Bota that I have had for almost a year now. It was a gift and a quick plunge into the world of orchids for me.
We moved shortly after getting the plant I have it in a south facing window with watering about once a week when the bark dries out durring these last few hot months. I feed it once a month and have it in a pot that is a little bigger than the one I got it in.
The cane that was in flower when I got the pot has become hollow and squishy and the plant has sprouted new growth on the other two cains that are growing roots off the side in mid air (which I understand are Keikis??) These appeared at the start of the growing season. The book I have says if I am going to take them off to do in the early spring before growing starts, however I think the plant will be dead by then. The new growth that was once slightly healthly looking is now droopy and a funny shade of green.
I would love to keep this plant alive as it has spurred me to get another orchid which is thriving great.
ANY help or suggestions would be awesome. I have pictures I can send if that would help. I am debating cutting off the new growth which seems like it might have a fighting chance, but they are so small I am worried it wont make it.
