How much information is too much???

I only put the name of the plant (stripped of clonal names) and a number corresponding to my database! So for example

On my database:-

70 Dendrobium speciosum var curvicaule 'Bee Creek' - Grand Champ '99 x var grandiflorum 'Krombit Gold' HCC/AOC-QOS

On tag:-

70 Dend speciosum

Now, I recently purchased some slipper orchids and noticed that the tags had dates as well, not sure if that corresponds to deflasking or repotting...

So, what do y'all do?

My records are a lot like yours , with a number assigned to a plant in the data base and on the orginal tag also on a new tag in the pot . I also put in the data base when I got it, and from who . I print the data base and put the entries on a disk . Just in case the HD. goes
The dates on your plants could be either out of flask or when repotted guess it depending on how big the plants are, could make a guessamate lol. Gin PS# If there is one that is a plant that is entered .

I also note flowering date on mine, the month and year.

Many growers put the date of last re-pot on the tag. I suspect that is the date on your tag. If it was a seedling, then I suppose it could be a deflask date, but I have not see that done before. Hope that helps!
