I am in love with the floofie catt's! I hadn't bought any, thinking they would be hard to grow. When my other catts began doing well I began buying tons of floofies last spring. My catt section grew so large and are so packed together it hides buds on me. I only found these buds a few days before they opened and yesterday I found another of my large floofie catts has three huge buds that two other plants were hiding. lol Gotta love the amazing people that create these wonderful plants! If they don't slow down i'm going to need another green house!

Just out of curiosity, what is the down-side to having the sepals curling back? On many Catts you barely see the sepals at all because they are so small in relation to the gigantic petals. I honestly wouldn't even have thought to take the sepal shape of this plant into account, because the petals and the lip are so amazingly stunning!

Are the reflexed sepals considered undesirable by the AOS? I'm just curious! I don't know much yet about what makes a "well-formed" Catt; I just go for what's pretty!!

With Catts the recent breeding is for round and flat. The sepals are taken into consideration with judging. It is a pretty cross and if you like it, that is what counts.

Those are beautiful, Connie! I agree with you, my favorite orchids are the large, showy cattleya hybrids. They're such spectacular plants. If I had more room I would still be collecting them but my space is too small for any more. It's always fun to discover some new buds that you were unaware of. Beautiful.

I think this is why I do not show. I adore my flowers and would hate to hear someone say there is some small thing they do not like. lol I like them and for me that is all that matters. I like flowers and as long as these bloom they get to stay. I love phalaenopsis, and the common dendrobium as much as the Dracula lotax in spike. Each is unique, colorful and amazing to my eye.

I agree...it is one of the many things I love about this flower. The color thread that goes around the edge of the lip.... And then there is the scent of the flower. I have two in my living room putting out amazing sweet scents. I cannot go past either one without putting my nose to them. I am extremely happy with the entire plant....including the fact it likes my care and blooms with such big flowers. I am glad e1 else enjoys it as well....
