NOID Bulbo

I'm really having a bad, bad, day... Fetched a tray of plants in to photograph and maybe post and every darn one seems to be wrongly labelled. I had this as Bulbo ghiesbrechtianum. If there ever was such a plant its now an Encyclia, and certainly this is a Bulbo, I can even get the right section. But what is it called ? The flowers btw are less than an inch long - otherwise its rathger similar to say B.vaginatum, but much smaller on all counts. Growing with a dozen or more leads , and another 4 or more spikes to come, but what the dickens is it ?

Hi Geoff that is Bulbophyllum odoratissimum. Section Desmosanthes A nice clone of it too

Thanks Ron-ny ; I think you are right. Desmosthanes certainly - I had got that far myself. But looking up this grex in Emily Siegerists book she makes the point that it is unusual in that the smell is a very pleasant one, unlike most of this section ( which of course includes B.medusae, smelling of rotting flesh ! - actually, a smell I am not too familiar with ). IOSPE says flowers 1/4inch - which put me off, but perhaps that is some estimation of "natural spread". Actually the petals are some 1 cm long, so that if flattened out - which would be quite unnatural of course, the flower would be very much bigger than 1/4inch. But I am sure enough to write a label now.

Geoff, I used to have a large collection of Bulbo species. I feel fairly positive that it is Bulbophyllum odoratissimum.
