Please Help Identify this Orchid

Hi!

I am new to this forum. I got this orchid recently. It looks like an orchid. But I do not have any idea of its type. I have been searching on the internet in order to know its type, but I am still clueless. Please help me to identify this orchid so that I may be able to care for it based on its need. I do not want this orchid to die due to improper care. It has a 15" thick and fleshy leaves ( almost like a phaleanopsis). It comes in an 8" pot. I have enclosed some picture as well.

Base on the morphology of the leaves previously this plant was described as Oncidium but now already move to Trichocentrum to say whether species or hybrids need to wait to see the flower, native to South America majority have a strong fragrance hope will help you the ID salam.

Welcome to OT. You have a very healthy pot of Trichocentrum there. I concur with Zainal. Previously this was classified as an Oncidium, commonly referred to as a mule-eared oncidium.

Thank you Mr. Zainal and Cattan for the quick reply. I had replied previously but when I checked back the post, it is empty. If it is not a problem, can you please tell on the lighting and the watering that this orchid needed?

these mule-ear Oncs can take fairly high light. Dappled sunlight. water when approaches dryness with allowing it to get dry between watering in the winter.

Thank you very much for the information.However, it is currently raining heavily everyday here in the evening. I hope it is okay. I hang it at the west side of my house under the open air garage. Is it okay with strong afternoon sun? Because that spot usually receive high light in the afternoon. I will try to search more information.

I am having problem with my post. I need to learn more here.

I hang it at the western side of my house under the garage. It may receive high light during the afternoon. However, it is raining heavily everyday here in the afternoon. I hope my orchid will survive. Is it okay with high afternoon light? I heard that afternoon light may give sunburn to the leaves.
