Hello Orchid Growers,
The attached pic is of one of my Cattleyas. Given my inexperience I have a question about the Cattleya shown in the first picture.
Previously, two leaves on this plant had turned yellow/brown and had to be removed. At that time, over a month ago, I was told to check the roots. Sure enough, there was a good amount of rotted roots. I very carefully removed all dead and decaying roots and repotted the plant. For 3 weeks I left the plant stay in partial shade, further away from the overhanging grow lights.
However, while the rest of the plant is doing well and, as you can see from the second picture, is sending up a blossom sheath, I wonder about the bruise/brown spot on the leaf in the first picture. I'm sure I cut out the dead roots. Maybe it's shock from the repotting?
Thanks so much up front for reading this and for providing any insight/solution you may have.
Happy orchid growing!
Don
