No, Pete, it is not in spike. It's actually pretty wee, which, after this morning's adventure, is okay by me!

Here's a little closer one...It's in only a 2.5" rose pot. I think my 5" is going to be too big, what do you think?? I may have to do a boxstore run tonight?
Looks like a nice sized hay and I would repot it in a slightly larger pot. Their plants are always underpotted. Don't forget to drill holes! What is the LS?
17"
Don't worry! I am like MAD DRILL GIRL these days. I think I did it this morning in about 10 min. flat, and the plastic was thicker than those round pots of mine.
Oh, and the cross is 'Crestwood' HCC x 'Shiela' AM. Just in case anyone was curious.
You must be quite an expert on that by now.![]()
Only 1 growth on the hay? Any new starts?
Yes, only 1 growth. So, even though it is 17", 5" pot still too big? I like those clear pots so much.
It depends on how big the root system is. If it fits comfortably inside the pot, then perfect! Even if the pot is a little larger, it should be ok because the extra holes will be extra drainage and air flow.
Ok, thank you again for the assistance.
I'm going to have to order more supplies from KK!![]()
Nice plant Heather. I think a 5-inch pot should be fine with lots of air and drainage. The plant has a good color and the foliage is standing upright which tells me that it should have a very strong root system. It really should come out of that little 2 in pot. I have seen people (lja included) pot into a plastic container (small butter tub, those handy throwaway plastic containers for leftovers, etc.) when they did not have a 4" container and thought a five inch pot was too large to let the roots dry off enough. Anyway, just a thought.
Cheers!

Oh gosh!I never thought of that! I have a bazillion nice small tupperware leftover containers that I bet will be perfect! Thanks BD!
Oh yeah, and I'll get it out of there right when I get home from work. I'm looking forward to a fun-filled potting evening! lol, I need to get a life huh? This is most exciting!![]()
