Hi Rosie look at the morphology of the plant to me maybe it's Brassavola species could be cuculata orB. acaulis.
Might be an Australian Dendrobium (Dockrilla) like a striolatum or teretifolium.
If it is, then let it dry completely in between watering and give it a colder period in winter to promote flowering

Correct Maurice, it is now called a Dockrillia Teretifolia (prev. Dockrilla). Thank you for your input. I believe it is also called the Rat Tail Orchid/Bridal Veil Orchid. I learnt all this from a neighbour who delves in Australian natives, who dropped in for a chat yesterday. So thank you Zain and Maurice.
