Trumpets should sound at the opening of these flowers. I looked at the pictures online and hoped the color would come out better for me since they weren't too nice in the pictures. And tah dah...I'm in love. I have always wanted a "white" vanda. These look white until you change the lighting. This one has a pink overlay that in bright sunlight overtakes the yellow at the bottom of the petals. It turned out to be a very nice plant after all. Now I can't wait to see the Vanda Apple White that I bought from the same vendor. The spike on it has ball at the end that means the flowers will be at least as big as these. Woo Hoo





...You may need sunglasses for the next picture! lol Full sunlight behind the flowers made them glow and sparkle.

It is a semi-terete I think ? They don't do well in my northern clime ( poetic , ain't I ). But yes, proper white flowers are always great for western civilised people. I am told that in oriental places- some at least - White is the colour of mourning, so they will not be keen on white flowers.

That hint of pink...I spent quite awhile staring at that picture. Each time you let a little different sun hit it the level of pink changed. It almost looked "coerulea" when the sun was setting. I have waited a long time for this one. I have it hanging so I can see it from where I am sitting indoors, along with a few others that are in bloom as well.
