This is my first blooming of a complex, and one of only a few times I've seen one in person. I'm not sure how much I like it. I mean, it's big, round, and cute, but . . . kinda strange. I'm guessing it'll grow on me, so to speak.

I have one complex, Sue, out of over 20 paphs. It blasted on me last summer when I was too busy piping to water it properly, so I didn't have the chance to come to love it.
There's beauty there, and an attraction, but I think your right (as I see it, anyway), it has to take root. So to speak.
Still, it's a handsome flower. Nothing wrong with that one. Good luck with your relationship!
Julie
I did not enjoy them too much either. I always thought they are kind of "un-naturally" grotesque! However, after a few of my complex paphs bloom this year and see what a trooper they are, I start liking them. How can you hate them when the bloom lasts for 3 months and you only have to water them once a week? I have one very similar, it opened weeks before Christmas and it is still in almost perfect condition right now!
Cheers. Hoa.
Very pretty ! I like it !Gin
I really think that's a great plant, Sue. But since your relationship may be rocky, I would be happy to take it off your hands... along with Julies and Hoa's. I have 19 complex or bulldog paphs, and there's always room for more!!!! Next best thing to a floofy catt!
oooh Diane beat me to it...
I'd say with shape like that and a fairly nice overall colour, it's a keeper!
I used to be a Paph species snob but after seeing some of these amazing bulldogs in flower, I've become converted.... now I just have to flower one...
These are growing on me too. I probably won't be able to resist them much longer.
