    Default mutant orchid?

    This is most unusual, and I noticed it only today.
    This particular plant has 'split leaves', and most of it are like that. I've never seen any other orchid species with such leaves. Is this a result of some mutation, or a genus I'm not aware of?

    Ever looked at vanda leaf tips? I've even seen some with extra ribbing running the length of the leaf.

    I think this is called bilobed leaf tip and is quite common. In this case since it is not equally split, it is called unequally bilobed leaf tip. Mutant or not depends on the species. I could be wrong

    It's interesting...I've seen vandas, but I've never noticed this bilobed leaf phenomenon. Does it exist with only specific genuses?

    Leaf structure is usually documented as a part of the plant description and depends on genus.

    I have a bunch with bilobed leaves. Seems pretty common IMO.

    Funny you should mention plant description, because when I googled for orchids with bilobed leaves, very little information was available. To some extent, I felt I had inherited a rare plant!
