Flower spikes stopped growing

This is my first orchid and its produced two flower spikes but they have stopped growing and two leaves have grown since then. My orchid was outside but I brought in due to couple snow falls. Did I confuse my orchid? What should I do? It's a mini moth

stalling of flower spike is usually due to shock/stress of some sort.Posting a picture would be helpful.

I'm not sure, sometimes mine do stop growing, but I don't know how to encourage them, other than continuing to take good care of the plant and waiting. Good luck!

Oh, snow and extreme cold could cause it to pause. I would be sure it stays above 50 degrees, preferrably 60 as a low. Most Phals like it a bit warmer, though many are triggered to bloom by cooler temps, they generally grow well in warmth. Good thing you brought it in, leaving it out would probably have killed it.

I generally don't let my phals see temps of below 55F unless it is just an extra cool night during the summer.

Is it supposed to be growing new leaves the same time as flower spikes?

They can and do grow both at the same time. Not unusual.

I also just noticed a new root growing as well. I thought leaves and roots grow during spring summer and spikes grow during fall winter.

Living in South Florida I have roots on my phals growing all the time. Usually a phal will spike when they have had some coldness that usually starts a spike, nurseries down here put them in a walk-in refrigerator to get them to spike and flower year round. Your phal looks healthy and the spikes look fine, just wait, it might just be getting use to the environment indoors versus when you had this one outdoors.
