A curious plant known as the pineapple orchid for its growing habit. Each round bulb has several leaves arranged on either side like a pineapple. This species naturally crawls on a long woody rhizome across sun-baked rocks in Thailand. This one is a cultivated plant. It flowers when new growth emerges from the mature pseudobulbs. Not sure if the old bulbs can re-bloom.
The flowers are covered with whitish fuzz.
And a friend, unknown Mokara. Used to flower non-stop when I fed it better.
