Oncidium sphacelatum

I got this as a gift in January of this year, it was starting to show a few spikes. Well there are 6 spikes all about 24-30 inches tall. This orchid is in a 12 vanda basket that is rotting away so once the blooms are over I will be repotting, it also is full of ferns of different types growing out of the sides of the rotting basket, this one is not going to be fun repotting.

Yes, that one is going to be a workout! Oncs in general are at repotting time. Roots!!! I just love the dancing lady types though. Are you going to divide it?

I am not sure except first take out the dead pb, I would like to keep it whole but will not know until I get into the process.

Anyone who has this species what media do you use?

They are cool but get so big! There is one at our botanical garden that is 6' across. Can't really help with the media. They use the same thing for all of the orchids in the collection.
