Leaf issue- cold damage or worse?

Hello,
Does anyone know if the damage on this phals leaves might be heat or cold related or some other worse issue like a bacteria or virus? The plant is quarantined at my Mom's house as it is the only orchid there, but not sure whether or not to treat with physan or cut the leaves off that are bad. The leaves are firm as are the nodules.
Any help is appreciated.

When did it happen? Was it really exposed to cold?
If its cold damage you cant do anything, plant will recover on its own, it will have unpleasant look on the leaves. If you dont like look you can cut but i woild leave it alone.

Do you have any reasons think its might be fungus?

I don't know what happened to the plant. This is the way it came. It was wrapped up so the damage wasn't apparent until after we received it. Not sure if it is cold or heat damage or just some sort of mechanical damage.
The leaves don't bother me the way that they are. I just don't want to contaminate the other plants that I have which is why it's at my Mom's house.
The leaves are firm and the spots aren't squishy nor do they smell so I don't think it is necessarily a fungus. I have looked at it every day and it doesn't seem to be changing. I am more worried about the yellow part. I haven't seen a leaf do that before where it looks like the chlorophyll leached out of the cells of the plant.

Here is my catt with definitely cold damage plus maybe somw degree of sun burn (i put it oustide when night temp were kind of low)



Depends from who you got it maybe they can clarify?

I think at sun burn it cam go through yellow color to eventually white.
If you bought it online ask seler to exchange or refund.

It doesn't look like cold damage after looking at your pictures. Possibly sun burn judging from what you told me about sun burn damage. I can't return it because it was a gift, but I will contact the seller as the tag was on it to see what the seller might add if I can get a response.

No such luck from the company that sold the orchid originally- they haven't responded. At another store that sells this same brand of orchid I saw where they had been "watered" with ice cubes thrown into the plastic sleeve that protects the flowers and the ice was sitting on the leaves of the phal. No telling if that is the treatment that this orchid got as well. At any rate the leaf damage doesn't seem to be spreading and the flowers have continued to open up as if nothing happened. I will keep the orchid at my Mom's house for a few more weeks and if all goes well I will I guess assume it isn't viral or contagious and move it in with mine.

Im glad its not spreading!
Probably they watered it the same. Since store people are not orchid people they do what care instructions says...

Yes. I am leaning toward some type of cold damage then heat damage. I notice that the orchids that are being shipped here right now must be spending too much time on loading docks at the backs of trucks. The flowers are looking a bit wilted so I am sure the summer heat isn't helping anything right now while being shipped.

If I saw that in one of my plants I would think 'sunburn'. But, maybe it could be from ice.
