Rodriguezia lanceolata (secunda), beautiful orchid native of Trinidad, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana and Brazil, does not have a stable period of flowering, love ur a high, intense light and feeding force 1 / 2, 150 ppm.

These rodriguiezias are very free with their aerial roots, I find, so much so that unless you have good strong spikes ( and some of the species have only short ones) the flowers are rather hidden by the wandering roots. I was very keen on the genus once, but have found quite a few which I thought were not worth the space they take. The bright colour here is a big help I think - I seemed to have got a lot of pale ones or whites, and maybe that's where I went wrong in species selection.
