    Default the phal tree

This is the third year of the strap-it-to-the-tree program. When someone gives me a phal or onc or I have another keiki ready to pot, I just tie it on with a chunk of moss and fish line. It's watered by a mist system twice a week. The roots quickly snake around the trunk. As I said in another thread, I may have to cut down the palm and take it with me if I want to move...lol. In the background is a pot of Minerva amaryllis on its second year. The 3 bulbs from a big box last year are 9" across and now have offsets that also have buds...should have a total of 30+ blossoms from this pot!

Also pictured in the background is the pot of 8 white phals and the c. aggregatum in its full glory. Boy I love this time of year!

I also mount a lot of my phals on the palms in my yard. Once they are established, they are really quite low maintenance and beautiful.

Monique, lower than low maintenance...I just nestle some Osmocote onto their moss, and that's it!
