Flowers are virtually identical to one of the parents - Promenea xanthina, although a little smaller - a matter of ( guessing) 35mm instead of 40mm natural spread ( I hav a plant of xanthina just in flower, a young thing in a 3 inch pot, only half a dozen flowers so far ). The other parent is Warczewiczella (not sure if I have spelled that right ! ) marginata . They are both in the same genetic alliance as Zygopetallum, which are renowned amongst orchid breeders for producing offspring looking the same as one of the parents, irrespective of what the other (pollen) parent is. The seed parent is very dominant in other words.
Black spots on the leaves ; they were on all of the leaves when I bought this 2 or maybe 3 years ago, in a 3 inch pot. I have potted it on each year, and now it fills a six inch pot - all of the newer leaves are clean and immaculate - maybe I shall lose all of the spotted leaves in the next year, and then the plant will be award or at least class-winner potential. Currently 31 flowers and 12 buds , but its only just starting.
