Smile Neofinetia falcata 'Red' x Aerides odorata 'Pink'

I thought I'd post this hybrid Neofinetia falcata 'Red' x Aerides odorata 'Pink', next to this Aerides odorata species post. Quite different but this does have a sweet fragrance different from the normal falcata scent. And a cross of form from the parents.

Quick shots with the cell phone. I am allowing it to bloom the rest of the way at the office. I've had this for 22 months.

Your post appears to suggest that your two pics are of two different orchids - one is an Aerides species , and the other an intergeneric hybrid ; but the pics look as though they are both of the same plant ? Or have I misunderstood ?

Geoff- Yes, misunderstood. It is a primary hybrid. I was meaning that the previous post in the 'other In Bloom' was the species and I posited a hybrid with that same parent as part of the hybrid direct after..

It is very pretty, and has a very delicate, & dainty look about it.

Lovely flowers, fragrant, and a tidy growth habit. Both parents are fragrant so their hybrid offsprings should be fragrant too. in my opinion, this hybrid exhibits the best charicteristics of both parents. One thing you can look forward to is as you continue to grow this plant it will produce keiki that would add to the blooming cycle, you'll get a lovely bouquet when that happens.
