Not quite that tiny, unless you compare it to a big cattleya ; actually 7.8cm natural spread. This clone was awarded by AOS way back in 1984, with an HCC/AOS , shown with 5 flowers on the spike, best flower 7.3cm spread. I think I flowered this last year, or maybe bought it in bud , since I can't find any pictures on my system, apart from the ones I have just taken.
Afairly complex hybrid, 50% C.longipes ( one I don't know - I suspect it is one of those rupicolous laelias with long stems , and this will account for the small stature of the plant; 25% Gur. bowringiana ; and then contributions from 3 other species. A pretty little thing, I shall give it lots of tlc.
