Technically, perhaps a reed-stem Epidendrum. No bulbs, but new growths end with a terminal spike. A first flowering for me, after perhaps 18 months in my collection.
The specific name mens "rusty coloured" . Not very rusty here !
But a bit of research (Orchidwiz) shows images of plants varying all the way from much greener flowers than these, to much browner ones.
It is, to be honest, not quite as impressive as I was led to believe by descriptions I read before I ordered. But I guess I'll give it a run in my collection - maybe someone will fall in love with it, if and when I get around to showing it, and I'll allow myself to be persuaded to sell it...
If and when is of course appropriate - I have just has a mail from the RHS saying all flower shows cancelled for the foreseeable future.
To give you an idea of size, each of the spikes of flowers is about 4 inches from top to bottom , so indiividual flowers maybe just over ½ inch.
