This was one of the plants I bought in bloom last week.
This species ranges from Mexico down into Panama. It has a delicate scent of honeysuckle.

Hi Julie,
I didn't know that you are into maxillaria these days! Hehheheheee... You must have gotten this one in one of your orchid binges ... (Don't blame me for it, okie!)
Nice blooms and the unusual fragrance helps with the allure ... Good growing!
Cheers. Hoa.
Oh so pretty Julie, I have a similar one Maxillara -sophronitis that I just got in August and I am hoping it will bloom for me this winter.

Thanks, all!
Hoa, I've loaded up so with all the usual suspects (Catts, Phals, Paphs, Phrags, Oncs and even a few Dends) I decided this spring that new acquisitions as space draws tighter really ought to be an exploration of new genera. After all, the fun and wonder is in the learning.
I'm trying to be careful to only get plants that will succeed in my environment. The Masd was a big leap of faith. But Darrin did select a hybrid that he thought would be best suited for what I have. He had a gorgeous fuzzy Drac - a gigantic one - but he said, no way! I don't have the winter time humidity. He had amazing Dend. cuthbertsonii, but Lisa admitted how she's always killed them. And she has the pro greenhouse! Too bad - they bloom for 9 months!
I have two Lycaste now, and felt pretty good trying a Maxillaria. My Eriopsis is an experiment, but it seems to be doing ok. My Eria is weird smelling and only blooms for a few days, but that's ok! It's part of the journey, and I'm really loving the journey!
