I have my nearly rootless phal orchid in a fish tank with damp sphagnum moss and it is potted as much as an orchid can be with bad roots. I have Saran Wrap covering 3/4 of the top of the tank (it is open over the orchid as I am trying not to have more rot occur). . I treated with SuperThrive almost a week ago by pouring it in the moss. I did not spray the leaves with the superthrive. How long approximately does it take if new roots should grow? Is it weeks or months? I have read that orchids grow and die slowly (or that they can).
Should I suspend the orchid above the potted moss so that it isn't touching the moss in an effort to encourage roots to grow down to it or just leave it alone and hope for the best?
Thank you!
