I think it is beautiful though. Our banana tree froze this winter. I don't think it will come back this time. Thanks, Pat, for sharing this one!

I love bananas, I wonder if I should plant one in the backyard... one thing that you could do with the fruits if they are not naturally sweet is to slice them up, cover them with sugar. Then roll them in spring roll wrappings and afterwards roll that in sugar and then fry em... totally unhealthy as far as sugar and oil content goes but absolutely delicious!

Pat, it's like a fantasy to have a cool banana tree in your back yard. You are so lucky! Does anything eat the bananas?

Beautiful tree there. The banana flowers I saw at a conservatory were really pretty
I used to have a banana tree indoors. It was growing well in my old (but newer) house with a tall vaulted ceiling and huge bay window, but not in my new (but older) house so I had to get rid of the tree unfortunately because of it's height. Banana tree tolerate indoor conditions quite well, but I doubt they would bloom. I miss those large and open windows of my old house because they were great for orchids, but my new house has a much better location.
