Wisteria.

I,ve had a Wisteria growing all over the back of the house for about 10 years ,
it has got pretty wild & i,ve had to cut it right back this year because it had grown over the house & was flowering on the other side.
Here is a piccie taken from the door leading into the back garden.
The racemes are nearly 3 foot long & the smell is gorgeous.
Note very large piccie.

I love this stuff. The unfortunate side effect is the stains it creates when it drips. Very nice plant you got there.

That is huge! I bet it is wonderful! Does it die back every year, or just drop its leaves and then in the spring put out new ones?

Nice! Wisteria is great for camouflaging fences and such because it grows so fast, but you definitely have to keep up with it.

Ahhh...this must be my most favorite climber of all times. I LOVE this plant.
My sister had 2 of these...i always envied her.

I'm thinking of buying 1 next year.... i just can't decide where to put it.

If you get 1 try to find a "grafted" plant.The first Wisteria i bought wasn,t & i found out that it can take 10 years or more for it to bloom.

Mine is Wisteria sinesis "Macrobytes" IIRC , it has a Chinese wisteria stock with a Japanese wisteria grafted onto the stock.It took about 2 years for it to really establish itself(got a few flowers the second year) & then it just took off.
Planting 1 next to a tree is great but make sure the Wisteria is planted @ least a couple of feet away from the trunk of the tree , this way it,ll get more rain.Just angle the wisteria to the trunk.
