    Default Florida Tulips

We might not have daffodils, crocus and tulips but we have amaryllis to usher in our springtime. Plus the gardenias are in bloom and the air is heavy with their fragrance. Happy Spring.

Great blooms! My reds are about done, have a striped one that has a nice spike coming up! Yours are obviously very happy!

Wow - never really thought about these growing in gardens. My mum has always had them in pots, right from when I was a child, and I had my first this year.

How magnificent to be able to walk out into your garden and see those great trumpets!

Those are so beautiful. I have a red on in a pot that is about to bloom. I had it inside till just recently. The Easter frost killed most of the spring blooms here in Arkansas, so I feel like I have been spring bloom deprived, lol! I wish I could grow mine in the garden, but it just gets too cold here for it to make it over the winter.

    Cheers,
    BD

Love seeing them in bloom outdoors. I have always been partial to the peachy ones. How is their life cycle outside? After the blooms are over, does the plant keep its leaves for a while and then go dormant until next year?

Here in California, yes. They stay green for about 9 months. I will have to get after mine, they have too many bulblets and need to be spread out.

Beautiful! I received a large arrangement of 2 dozen ruffled pink gladiolas for Mother's Day. There are small clusters of white flowers that look like daisies scattered throughout the bouquet. A breathtaking arrangement.
