So-I got this bs plant last February or March from a reputable grower along with some other plants that are doing well (all catts).

I repotted, and it immidiately started to sulk-couple of the leaves wrinkled. I kept it out of direct sun and watered once a week. Now, here in Colorado, I've had it in an east window where it doesn't get a ton of hot direct sun. Yet, it's getting worse! More leaves are wrinkling. Roots are growing, and it's shooting up two new p-bulbs. I'm now watering about twice a week and fertilizing with 1/4 strength fert. about once a week or every ten days.

I don't get it. My other catts are good-new growth, leaves and p-bulbs happy...

This plant does have more course...is that the right word? leaves, they're darker green and not as pliable as most of my other catts.

Suggestions?

Maybe a humidity issue? I've found that with some of my cattleyas that had past root damage, the leaves come back a little if I wipe my wet fingers over them and let the water soak in... I do it maybe every other to every third day and it seems to help a little.

The new growth always seems to grow the roots while the old stuff just sits and slowly withers away... It's sad... But I guess its the price I pay for damaging those roots.

Hmm -- for me at least when a plant gets darker green I always wonder if it is not getting enough light. Since I grow in my house, getting enough light is always a struggle.

I also wondered what you repotted to -- is it coconut husk or something that might not have been washed or otherwise contain something the plant doesn't like?

When you say that it "has more leaves" -- do you mean it is bifoliate? (I don't know my catts well enough to tell from the name). It may be that this catt has slightly different culture requirements if that is the case. I'll defer to our floof experts on that . . .

To clarify-this plant CAME to me with darker green leaves, I think it's supposed to be that way. It has gotten just as much sun/light as my other catts who are happy and blooming. It's been either in a south or an east window, I've played around with more and less intense light/heat.

I repotted in the mix I make myself that does indeed have coconut husks in it, but they are well rinsed (CHC, charcole, med bark, little sphag, and little sponge rock, and a little aliflor) AND I have about 25 plants potted in this same mix from the same batch that are all thriving.

Maybe it's just in a bad mood this month, an hour in human terms. Talk mean to it and mention the trash. That always seems to perk mine up.
