Default Young phrag w/ water damage

I screwed up! Somehow my young Phrag Barbara LeAnn got water near or inside the crown and tonight I noticed I have brown spots near/inside the crown!!!

Oh, please tell me I can fix this and it isn't too far gone? .... it DOES have a new growth just starting off one side of the plant but it's only about 1/2 " long and there's a spot on the leaf VERY close to it.... is there something I can put on these spots to dry them out and possibly save the plant???

    Hi ,
Have had the same thing , You can try straight peroxcide on the spots then coat with cinnamon to try and dry them up .Blot when peroxcide is done fizzing .
The other option is to take an exacto knife and section the spots out and then use the cinnamon on the cut edges to dry them . If the spot gets too close I would remove it for sure or rot will get the new growth . Sorry know how you feel . Gin

Thanks, Gin. I was hoping that might work, so I'm treating with peroxide... (no bubbles - that's weird) and then cinnamon. I think I'll move it up a shelf (same distance from the window) where the fan has a little better access, just to help dry it up... So far, the only black spot is that one at the base, next to the new growth.... there's a nub of new growth on the other side, too... I'm definitely keeping a watch on this poor thing...

I'm pretty sure the water was from the plants above it... I either spilled water when refilling a humidity tray (then we've had cloudy/stormy, super humid days recently), or misting a phal's drying aerial root. (Why do they make aerial roots when there's not enough moisture to keep them? Dingy phal!)

... Sorry.... a little stressed. Thanks for the support.

Quick update: it looks like the majority of the damage is on just one leaf with a fair amount also on that baby leaf, too (but not as bad). I'm hoping I caught it in time and maybe will only lose one or two.... obviously, it probably will stop this growth, but... more power to the newbies.....

It should be fine, just watch it close .
About the new phal. leaf if the rot does not spread into the crown the leaf will continue to grow will just have battle scars . I think I would pour a little peroxcide in the crown just in case . Be sure to wick it out peroxcide reverts back to water once it is done working . Good Luck with them . Gin
