    Default Angcm. veitchii

Here is a lovely species orchid that just puts out a show every year. The plant has grown way to big to take out of the greenhouse (easily), so I just snapped the photos in place. That is my hand in the photo for a size reference. These blooms are huge and heavy. We did not stake the spikes (9 or 10 of them this time) and they just hang down on top of the other orchids. I had to pick them up to photograph them. The spurs (best seen in the first photo) are so long and perfect. I really love this orchid. We grow it like we do our vandas. It is potted in a basket with very open lava rock medium. It has a huge root mass and several 'branches' or mature growths. Every year I think it is time to cut it up and divide it, but when I see it bloom, well, no chance. Enjoy.

Very beautiful! Wow! I bought one of these at the OSO meeting from our cave-growing expert. Yours is spectacular! I love the long spurs and the faint green color.

Wow Bruce it is wonderful. Mine was always sickly and pouty and now is Resting in Peace in the compost heap. I don't think it liked me or any of it's house mates.
