Buds finally opened!

This tiny oncidium spiked shortly after Katie gave them to me (around July).
It has taken its sweet time teasing me as the buds just kept swelling but never opening.
The pot is 2" or 2 1/2".
The swollen buds, while closed are about the size of mung beans.

I checked the GH this morning and this is what greeted me.


I wanted to take a closer shot but this orchid is so tiny the close up pictures were messed up. All my digital cameras are point & shoot cameras.
I have a Canon Rebel SLR that can take macro shots but I'm too lazy to use a film camera these days (Take picture, bring films to shop for developing, pick up photos, etc lol).

This oncidium did not have an ID but Katie suggested that it may be a twinkle or sweet sugar.

Congrats, that looks exactly like Oncidium Twinkle Fragrance Fantasy,
In time, the flowers will smell like vanilla! one of my favorite orchids

I thought the sweet sugar was bright yellow with a little striping....doesn't look similar to me...

Nope not sweet sugar ,it is almost all bright yellow and a larger plant , I'm with Elitebettas looks like a Twinkle .. very cute blooms ..Mine is in bud and taking it's sweet time .. Gin

Hi John....it is a twinkle. You also have a red one and 2 yellow. All Twinkles. All were Christmas gifts and in bloom at the same time. The yellow is my favorite.
