Newbie feeding question

I'm sure this has got to be in here somewhere, but I couldn't seem to find it.

What is the general consensus for feeding my plants?
When I water, the next day after watering? I'm using the the "Grow More" brand with all of the festive colors. The label say's if the medium is dry to water and then feed the next day. Wouldn't that equal watering twice as much as the plant wants?

The way that works best for use is to feed every other time we water. Many people feed weakly-weekly (every time s/he waters). It is really your choice. You do not want to over feed or over water. Be sure to flush the plants roots to remove salts after feeding for awhile. Salts build up in the growing medium and can cause burn eventually.

Also, please realize that depending on the type of orchid you grow, you may need to withhold food during the winter months.
