A species from Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. First bloom for me on this one. Nicely fragrant, flower about 4.5" petal span. The reverse of the flower has stronger color than the front which is unusual for most flowers.

Wow! Is this one very difficult to grow, Ron?
Oh how lovely, delicate looking. Would love to know the culture Ron, if you have time. Thanks ischel
very nice flower!
I don't find it difficult to grow. I have it in a water retentive bark mix. Bright light with some winter sun but less sun in the heat of summer. I am growing it intermediate. I keep it constantly moist but allow it to become almost dry during the cooler and darker months of winter. It is a fairly large plant. The growths are about 15" the single flower is at the end of a 6" spike.
Love it! (as I seem to love all these Maxillarias you keep posting! LOL)
Thanks for info on how you grow it!
Another beautiful orchid grown by Ron! Bravo!
Cheers,
